Watched spiderman 3 last night and couldn’t resist looking at my watch after every half an hour. The movie, although broke box office records in Asia, had many action sequences worth watching, somehow did not really click as the first two parts did. Miserable.

Watched Apocalypto yeasterday – one of the best non english movies. Set in the Yucatán Peninsula (Mexico) before Spanish contact, it depicts one man’s experience during the decline of the ancient Mayan civilization. There are no well known commercial movie actors which even reinforces the fact that good star cast and english language is not something essential for a blockbuster.
Watched Omkara after reading several reviews and raves about the movie. The movie is nothing great, only a typical commercial movie set in rustic UP planes. The language throughout the movie is unnecessarilly abusive, most definately not what you expect in eastern UP. Bipasha Basu playing a UP girl is as big a misfit as Vivek Oberoi playing Kesho Firangi or Bahubali. The movie is no doubt a change from the rona-dhona era of Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna but is not what some of the bloggers have given it marks for. So if you can spare some money and time, go and do a crash course in hindi abuses.
Saw the latest release of The Fast and The Furious series, and IMHO it is a must watch. The stunt-men (drifters) have done a brilliant job. The action, for once, keeps you on the edge of your seat.
