So Mr Punsalan has finally thrown a new design at every one’s face who has been busy choosing those web-safe colors for their sites. Nothing could be safer than black and white, nor does anything looks as long lasting as a design in pure black and white. As Derek put his moleskine and textmate know-how to use for 12 hours, a new website erupted. A website which will inspire many, and make many crave and beg for him to release the theme. Go check what a classy design is.

I can never have enough USB memory drives. From 64 MB in 2003, I recently moved to 2 GB. It’s unfortunate that although small and extremely useful, none of the USB memory sticks could satisfy my hunger. While looking at some expensive and designer drives, I found gold, silver and diamond studded drives on Chinese sites, which I can never afford. And then I found these ultra cool oooms memory sticks. Made out of hand-selected fine and polished wood, these look stunning when attached to a mac.

I have been using WordPress since WP 1.2. I don’t even remember how many times I have changed the style/theme and even hand coded the style sheet to make my site look little presentable. Although I was able to achieve much of a good-looking site, the admin page or dashboard as it’s popularly known, always pissed me off. I could never digest blue coloured admin page with dry interface. And very recently I came across Tiger Admin Theme V 3.0. The theme features a clean design, works on Safari and Firefox <del datetime="2006-12-15T08:47:46+00:00">IE</del>, and shows how Admin theme for wordpress should ideally be. The data presentation is just too good. Tabs are replaced by convenient menu on the left, and somehow everything looks to be in place. I would recommend any wordpress user to go check this Admin theme out. It’s surely one of those brilliant jobs by Ordered List.

On a related note, Alex King – a WP veteran and Dave Shea – master of CSS have redesigned their sites. The designs are definitely at par with A-List designers such as Mr Hicks and Dan Cederholm, and display highest degree of wordpress customization.

I haven’t seen many people writing about this, so I decided to write few lines about the recent reboot of Deviantart website. Deviantart website has always been based on a dark olive green colour theme, with each of its designs using the same colour. The latest design does not contain annoying dA posters, ads and extra click links for non-members. They profile page looks more organized and neat, not to forget the ajax used in displaying actual size images. Search options for non-members once blocked is open to all users. It seems that deviantART is now relying only on GoogleAds instead of their own ads.

Offlate, his site underwent massive redesign that shook his readers. The design was rather loud and bold with logo in orange and red. About a week ago, he completed his redesigning by adding a simple brown background to the sidebar. A clean crisp look that shows how colors can be used in web environment.
