For as long as I have read about Iraq, Saddam Hussein has been the only name that I can associate with that country. With American invasion of Iraq and capturing of Saddam Hussein, people were left to wonder why was he not shot dead till now. America for once wanted to glamorise the justice process that it has instated in Iraq. I never really was bothered why America invaded Iraq, went about killing enough people, and calling the process as fight against terrorism. However I feel sad about the way execution of Saddam was carried out. In less than 60 days he was sent to the gallows, and hung a day before the New Year’s eve, it clearly showed how America made mockery of the judicial system in Iraq. As someone quite rightly said:
Today marks the end of an evil era, the end of an evil era and the beginning of an even worse one
R.I.P Saddam

.Mac (dot Mac) membership is surely the first thing a new apple user is attracted to. More than just a cool email that describes you as a mac user, it also provides webdav based backup disk, sync profiles and lot more. But all this comes for a cost, at about $70. In today’s world, when companies offer much cheaper solutions at almost half the cost, the only thing about .mac membership is its inbuilt integration to OS X operating system. For those who can understand and afford few extra mouse clicks, and some semi-technical details, Derek offers an insightful read on “Poor boy Apple Dot Mac alternatives“. The article, like any other technical reviews at 5thirtyone, is a brilliantly composed piece providing a good user perspective to technologies that offer backup and sync services.

Leigh Hicks joins one-man-mighty-design army Jon Hicks to be part of Hicksdesign. I am sure the next year will be filled with several eye-candy releases from Hicks factory.
